Mississippi Public Broadcasting Radio Network to Broadcast Friday Night Under the LightsTM Football Scoreboard show
 

     Jackson – Robco, Inc. has officially announced that after negotiations with Mississippi Public Broadcasting the Friday Night Under the LightsTM football radio program will now be broadcast across the MPB radio network.   The affiliation with MBP creates the largest and greatest coverage Friday night scoreboard network in Mississippi.


     “This is a very exciting time for us,” stated Russ Robinson, President of the Friday Night Under the LightsTM  radio program.  “We’ve worked for five years to bring every Friday in the fall the best football scoreboard show in Mississippi.  Our affiliation with Mississippi Public Broadcasting now gives us the widest coverage as well.  There won’t be a spot in Mississippi now that someone wanting to keep up with Mississippi football won’t be able to pick up the show.”


     The Mississippi Public Broadcasting radio network consists of eight radio stations in Biloxi, Booneville, Bude, Greenwood, Jackson, Meridian, Mississippi State and Oxford-University.  Each station is 100,000 watts giving the MPB radio network a coverage area of 85% of Mississippi.  Combined with the Friday Night Under the LightsTM   tentative commercial network the Friday scoreboard show will effectively cover the state including select areas of Alabama, Louisiana and Tennessee.


      Along with the over-the-air broadcast the Friday Night Under the LightsTM scoreboard show broadcasts live across the Internet at http://www.fnutl.com.  Included on the website are all the updated scores, podcasts from previous weeks.  The Friday Night crew stays in contact with online fans via Instant message with AOL, Yahoo, and MSN by looking for the online name FNUTL. 


     The Friday Night Under the LightsTM  scoreboard show will start on August 22nd and will continue through the playoffs.  The radio show will take a week off for the state championship in Jackson and finish with the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game.
